White-Label UAV Surveying for Survey Companies
Specialist UAV capability without building an in-house drone department
UAV Surveys provides white-label and subcontract UAV surveying services to land surveyors, geomatics companies, engineering consultancies and multidisciplinary surveying practices throughout the UK. If your client needs aerial LiDAR, photogrammetry, topographical mapping or specialist UAV data capture, we can provide the capability behind your business while you retain the client relationship. We understand the distinction between working for an end client and working as a specialist subcontractor to another survey company.
Your client remains your client.
An Extension of Your Survey Team
There are good reasons why a surveying company may not want every UAV capability in-house.
Aircraft, sensors, training, operational approvals, competency, insurance, software and processing capability all carry cost. More specialist systems can be difficult to justify when they are only required for particular projects. UAV Surveys allows you to bring that capability into a project when it is needed. We can undertake the aerial element of a larger terrestrial survey, provide specialist data capture or manage the UAV workflow from survey planning through to processed deliverables.
UAV Surveying Services
White-label support can include:
-
Topographical UAV surveys
-
LiDAR data capture
-
Photogrammetric surveys
-
Aerial mapping
-
High-resolution orthomosaic capture
-
Point-cloud generation
-
Digital Terrain and Surface Models
-
Roof and façade surveys
-
Stockpile and volumetric surveys
-
Construction and earthworks surveys
-
3D mapping and digital-twin capture
-
Specialist aerial inspection imagery
Projects can range from a straightforward aerial addition to an existing topographical survey through to more complex LiDAR and photogrammetric capture.
Working With Your Existing Control
Where your survey team has already established site control, we can work from the control information supplied.
Alternatively, UAV Surveys can establish the required GNSS control and independent checkpoints as part of our scope.
Before mobilisation we agree the coordinate reference system, vertical datum, control requirements, expected accuracy, flight methodology and required outputs so that the aerial data fits into the wider survey rather than becoming an isolated dataset. For UK projects this commonly includes OSGB36 British National Grid and project-specific vertical requirements.
Independent Checkpoints
Where positional accuracy is important, verification should not consist solely of looking at the residuals of points used to control the model. Independent checkpoints provide a separate comparison between known surveyed coordinates and the resulting UAV dataset. Where appropriate, we incorporate checkpoints into the survey methodology and provide the resulting accuracy information with the processed data. This gives your survey team evidence with which to assess the dataset before incorporating it into client deliverables.
LiDAR and Photogrammetry
Because we work with both LiDAR and photogrammetric workflows, the technology can be selected around the survey requirement. Photogrammetry is extremely effective for high-resolution mapping, orthomosaics, surface models and visually rich 3D datasets. LiDAR provides advantages for particular topographical, infrastructure and vegetation environments and where direct three-dimensional measurement is required. Some projects benefit from a combination of the two. We will recommend the approach that suits the survey rather than the equipment we happen to want to fly.
Data That Fits Your Workflow
There is little value in supplying a technically impressive dataset that creates additional work for your survey team.
Before the project starts, we agree what you need back.
Depending on scope, deliverables can include:
-
LAS or LAZ point clouds
-
Orthomosaic imagery
-
DTM and DSM surfaces
-
Contours
-
3D models
-
DXF/DWG information
-
Georeferenced imagery
-
Survey control and checkpoint information
-
Processed or classified point-cloud data
-
Other project-specific formats
Raw or intermediate data can also be discussed where your team intends to undertake its own downstream processing.
White-Label Means White-Label
When we are appointed as your subcontract UAV survey provider, we respect the commercial relationship. We are there to deliver the specialist aerial component of your project, not to market ourselves to your client. The extent of our interaction with the end client can be agreed with you before mobilisation. We can operate visibly as UAV Surveys where appropriate or work as a specialist subcontract resource behind your organisation.
Experienced Survey-Focused UAV Operations
UAV Surveys is built around surveying and geospatial data rather than general drone photography.
Our experience covers aerial surveying, mapping, photogrammetry, LiDAR, survey control, processing and the operational planning required to collect data in real-world environments. That means we understand that the flight itself is only one part of the job. The final dataset has to work.
Need UAV Capability for a Tender or Live Project?
You do not need to wait until you have won the project. Send us the survey scope, site information and required outputs and we can help determine the UAV methodology and provide a subcontract price that you can incorporate into your quotation.
For surveying practices with recurring requirements, we can also provide ongoing white-label support on a project-by-project basis.
